The age of social media has definitely brought forth many different artists we would never have known if not for the gift of digital interconnectivity and makeup art is no exception. Today, however, I want to focus on lip arts.
Instagram and Snapchat are rife with tutorials and images of amazing lip arts of artists from all over the world, incredible and truly talented. I for one have tried to do lip arts and it is not easy, it’s hard enough to correct a lip shape and make sure you’re filling in the lines correctly, but to create an artwork using such a small and narrow space on your face is not a small feat. Some of these lip arts are really detailed and painstakingly created by steady hands.
Some people find it hard to put on even just a basic makeup look on their faces and so these artists, for me, are on a different level of artistry. For major heaps of art inspiration, check out these amazing lip arts.
Lip Arts 1: Flower Lips

This dainty flower painted lips is created on a nude base which gives the lips an invisible feel. The intricate design gives me such a wonderful feeling, it’s so soothing and relaxing to look at!
Lip Arts 2: More Love Less Hate
This lip art deserves a spot on my list because not only is it a tribute to the Orlando shooting victims, but its message and art resonates within me a lot.
Lip Arts 3: Jessica Rabbit
Now, there are quite a few lip arts featuring characters, but I find this particular one really well done. From the glitter on the bustier to the shading on Jessica Rabbit’s lips and eyeshadow, it feels like it took a while to create this one.
Lip Arts 4: Royal Blue
This amazing lip art is really striking to the eye, the texture and the composition are excellent. I especially love the glitters used on this.
Lip Arts 5: Floral Beauty

This wonderful floral design lip art feels ultra luxe to me, the detailing and the richness of the colors used is breathtaking. This one is very high fashion, I love it! Ooohh don’t you think this is perfect for a fall makeup? If you want to experiment this season this lip art is a perfect choice! I can’t help but notice the matching nail design as well.
Lip Arts 6: Grapefruit
Refreshing is what comes to mind when I look at this lip art, it’s clean and crisp and the colors used are cool to the eyes. This you can pair with a watermelon nail art, just like the floral beauty nail art.
Lip Arts 7: Bloom
There seem to be a lot of flowers on my list, but I really just appreciate this lip art here because of the unusual use of space, seeing that it had gone past the lips to create a full bloom of petals. I actually think this one is a little scary! LOL Well, it’s perfect for the halloween season!
Lip Arts 8: Marbled Lips
I know how to create a marbled look on canvas but creating a marbled look on the lips I feel require a different technique. This one is also special because it reminds me of the U.S. flag.
Lip Arts 9: Black Gradient

Gradients lips are all the rave this past season, and it’s not going anywhere but that isn’t the reason why this lip art is on my list. The composition of this art is LOVE! I also admire the blotch effect created on the gradient part, it looks very editorial.
Lip Art 10: Oriental Color
This lip art seems to be inspired by the orient using red and black, simple and sophisticated. When I saw this lip art what strike me about it is the use of circles as elements against a white and red background. Seems intriguing enough for me.
Lip Arts 11: Candy Cane Drip
I really like how put together this lip art is. It’s hard to create straight lines on curved surfaces and with this art looking so clean it has to be on here.
Lip Arts 12: Cryptic Nude Lips
I am in love with this lip art right here, partly feminine, partly edgy grunge. It also accentuates the lips beautifully and for some reason, I’m really drawn to this beautiful color of nude used in this lip art.
Lip Arts 13: Lightning Lips

This cool lip art features lightning bolts across the lips using a purple color as a border on the electric currents and I would very much like to replicate this if only it was easy to do.
Lip Arts 14: Abstract Red
This abstract piece of lip art looks very sinister and beautiful at the same time. You can also use existing shades of red lipstick in order to create your own version of this lip art.
Lip Art 15: Tribal Art
This tribal art inspired lip is such a beauty to look at. Using all matte colors on the lips, the artist is able to create a bright colored tribal art that looks very mod.
Lip Arts 16: Rhinestone Drip Lip
This beautiful piece is a simple take on editorial glam lip art. The texture created by the stick on rhinestones also add to the very vogue-ish appeal of this lip art.
Lip Arts 17: Sweet Lips

This lip art is created by using actual candies on the lips and how beautiful the colors and the textures created with such a simple medium.
